Arthur Stark, Chairman and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations issued the following statement:
We are outraged by the brutal stabbing of a leading member of the Jewish community in Helsingborg, Sweden. We pray that she makes a full and speedy recovery. The government of Sweden must take all necessary and proper measures to ensure the safety of Sweden’s Jewish population and to bring the perpetrator of this violent crime to justice. This incident represents further evidence of the deteriorating situation for Jews in Sweden and much of Europe. We stand in solidarity with the Swedish Jewish community during this difficult time.
