Jewish Leaders Demand Action to Stop Iranian Development of Nuclear Weapons

. . . Arthur Stark, Chairman, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

“It is absolutely unacceptable that Iran continues to deliberately violate its international obligations and commitments. By resuming production of 20% enriched uranium, the extremist regime accelerates its steady march toward the enrichment levels necessary to manufacture nuclear weapons. The international community must be on high alert in light of this very serious development, and must act decisively to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear weapons capacity before it is too late.

This latest outrage underscores recent statements by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi stating his belief that it would be untenable and impractical for the parties to simply restart or reactivate the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as it was when the United States withdrew. According to Grossi, Iran’s significant breaches necessitate a new agreement with new terms focusing on rolling back Iran’s recent transgressions.

The rogue regime is responsible for the deaths of countless innocent people in Iran, the Middle East, and around the world. It regularly calls for ‘Death to America’ and ‘Death to Israel’ — as the Ayatollah continues to further his nuclear ambitions and hegemonic goals. After such flagrant abuses of the JCPOA, the US and world leaders must recognize that Iran cannot be trusted to negotiate in good faith. Continued pressure is essential until Iran is ready to rejoin the community of nations and stop its subversive activities, support for terrorism, and aggressive behavior.”
