New York, NY . . . The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations applauded the establishment of the first permanent U.S. military base in Israel in which Israel Defense Forces and U.S. military personnel will work together on a day-to-day basis to enhance Israel’s defensive capabilities.
Conference of Presidents Chairman, Stephen M. Greenberg, and Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Malcolm Hoenlein said, “We welcome the first ever permanent U.S. military base in Israel that will improve the ability of military personnel from both countries to work side by side everyday.
The historic opening of this base underscores the close the relationship between Israel and the U.S. It is a natural extension of the longstanding security and military cooperation, that has included joint exercises, training missions and development of effective defensive systems that protect American troops and American interests, as well as Israelis, and should be expected to continue to grow.”
