New York, N.Y . . . Leaders of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations welcomed the voice vote in the House of Representatives signifying overwhelming bipartisan support for the Taylor Force Act making the Palestinian Authority accountable for its policy of glorifying terrorists and rewarding them and their families for murdering and maiming Israeli civilians.
Stephen M. Greenberg, Chairman, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, said, “For a governmental body to incentivize killings and provide rewards geared to the number of dead is an outrage that cannot be allowed to continue. Since the Palestinian Authority has not stopped this barbaric practice, the Taylor Force Act imposes meaningful consequences on the Palestinian Authority by cutting off U.S. funding if it continues to provide financial incentives to reward despicable acts of terrorism.
It is now up to the Senate to pass the bill and send it to the President to sign into law. We urge the Senate to act swiftly.
We commend House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) and Ranking Democrat Eliot Engel (D-NY) for their leadership in passing this important, bipartisan legislation.”
