Conference of Presidents Condemns Iranian Nuclear Violations After Alarming IAEA Findings

. . . Arthur Stark, Chairman, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

“We welcome the resolution rebuking Iranian noncompliance that the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) passed today by an overwhelming margin of 25 to 2. This important resolution calls on Iran to cooperate with the IAEA in providing it access to two potential nuclear sites and to explain the origins of nuclear material found by IAEA inspectors at a third site.

The United States and Israel have maintained for years that the Iranian regime hides its numerous and egregious violations of the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). From the outset, Iran was never operating in good faith as a signatory of the agreement by conducting a consistent pattern of deceit and obfuscation that lays bare its unwillingness to relent in its quest for nuclear weapons and regional hegemony at all costs.

This record of flagrant noncompliance demonstrates the urgent necessity of reimposing UN sanctions against the Iranian regime. The international community must keep economic pressure on Iran to deter its dangerous pursuit of nuclear weapons and gain their full compliance with the IAEA requirements.”
