. . . Arthur Stark, Chairman, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:
“We welcome the signing today of multiple agreements between the State of Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain, just weeks after the historic ceremony at the White House that marked the normalization of relations between the two countries.
In addition to a diplomatic agreement that sets the stage for the exchange of ambassadors and embassies, Israeli and Bahraini officials signed eight memorandums of understanding (MOUs) on a range of issues including investments, agriculture, and trade that will serve to strengthen ties between Israel and Bahrain.
The possibility of real and lasting peace between the Jewish State and its Arab and Muslim neighbors is at hand. With the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain embracing Israel in recent months, a new chapter has begun for the region in which cooperation is chosen over conflict. We hope to see more countries join in the peaceful coexistence that will define the future of the Middle East.”
