. . . Dianne Lob, Chair, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:
“We strongly support the decision by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli and the New York State Common Retirement Fund to divest from all Unilever investments, following the violation by Unilever subsidiary Ben & Jerry’s of state laws that prohibit discriminatory boycotts of Israel. We also commend the resolve of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida State Board of Administration to terminate business with Unilever and its subsidiaries, after giving the company a 90-day window to review and reverse its policy.
“We continue to support efforts in Arizona, Texas, and New Jersey, which have announced similar measures and call on other states to take action to demand Unilever reject this biased effort that singles out Israel alone and supports a bigoted boycott. We again call on Unilever to exercise its contractual right to override the discriminatory decision of the Board of its Ben & Jerry’s subsidiary.”
