…Dianne Lob, Chair, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:
“We welcome the approval of the Omnibus Appropriations Agreement in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives that provides $1 billion to the State of Israel for the restocking of its life-saving Iron Dome missile defense system.
Among other items, the bill also guarantees increased funding for domestic non-profit security, to help protect our houses of worship and communal spaces, which have increasingly come under attack, including recently in Colleyville, Texas.
This timely legislation reinforces the unwavering support in Congress for Israel’s security and that of the American Jewish community, helps strengthen the critical U.S.-Israel relationship, and will save countless lives around the world.
“The Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted 90% of the over 4,000 rockets launched at Israel by the Hamas terrorist regime last May. It is a key line of defense for the people of Israel – Jews, Muslims, and Christians – and an indispensable tool to maintain a qualitative military edge over militant Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists.”
