. . . Arthur Stark, Chairman, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:
“We are appalled by the blatantly discriminatory rhetoric in the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) questionnaire recently circulated to candidates for New York City Council. We echo the condemnation expressed in statements issued by many elected officials and candidates that this Jew-hatred has no place in the Empire State or anywhere.
It is outrageous that travel to one country in the entire world – Israel – is singled-out by the DSA New York chapter for irrational discriminatory treatment, as is their support for the pernicious Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions campaign that seeks Israel’s destruction. To appear to espouse the values of diversity and inclusion while advocating blatant hatred for the Jewish State is a hypocritical insult to all who seek those goals.
We are encouraged that the bigotry of the DSA questionnaire is widely derided, and we expect many more to join in its denunciation.”
