The Conference of Presidents Mourns the Passing of Abraham Foxman z”l

New York, NY — Betsy Berns Korn, Chair, William C. Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chair Emeritus, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

We mourn the passing of Abraham H. “Abe” Foxman z”l, who stood at the forefront of the fight against hatred and bigotry for decades, shaping the global conversation on antisemitism, human rights, and support for the U.S.-Israel relationship with moral clarity, courage, and conviction.

A Holocaust survivor whose life embodied extraordinary resilience, Abe Foxman dedicated himself to defending the Jewish people and advancing human dignity. He worked closely with the Conference of Presidents for decades, bringing wisdom, moral clarity, and unwavering resolve to the fight against antisemitism. His leadership strengthened the American Jewish community, reinforced support for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship, and inspired generations of Jewish and civic leaders.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched. May his memory be a blessing, and may the legacy of Abe Foxman continue to guide and strengthen the fight against antisemitism.

May Abe’s memory be for a blessing, and may his family find comfort and strength among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
