Joint Statement From the U.S.-Israel Strategic Dialogue Conference of Presidents Welcomes Strong Expression of Cooperation in Joint Statement on Recently Concluded Senior Level Meetings of the U.S. – Israel Strategic Diaglogue

Leaders of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations (COP) today welcomed the Joint Statement issued at the conclusion of the latest round of the U.S. – Israel Strategic Dialogue as “a clear reflection of the strong strategic relationship and U.S. commitment to Israel’s security.”

In a statement, Stephen M. Greenberg, Conference of Presidents Chairman, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, said:

“The U.S.-Israel Strategic Dialogue provides the opportunity for close consultation between the two countries at senior levels of government, the military and intelligence agencies to review and deepen cooperation, the U.S. commitment to Israel’s security and Israel’s valuable contributions to U.S. national security and strategic regional interests.  The Joint Statement issued yesterday is a clear reflection of the strong strategic relationship and mutual commitment to enhancing the security of Israel and the U.S.

The many points of agreement included in the Joint Statement should set a positive tone for the upcoming meeting in Washington between Israel’s Minister of Defense, Avigdor Liberman and U.S. Secretary of Defense, Ashton Carter.”
