New York, NY… Harriet P. Schleifer, Chair, and William Daroff, CEO, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:
“We are gratified that both the House of Representatives and the Senate are progressing towards providing emergency security aid to the State of Israel — assistance that is desperately needed in the Jewish state’s existential fight against the Hamas terrorist army.
“We support passage of both the House of Representatives’ standalone national security supplemental that would provide Israel $17.6 billion in emergency aid, as well as the Senate’s broader bill with a similar amount allotted for Israel’s defense.
“We urge members of Congress and Senators to act speedily to reach consensus. Provision of this emergency military aid is critical to Israel’s survival and America’s national security interests.”
