New York, NY – Harriet P. Schleifer, Chair, and William Daroff, CEO, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:
“The Conference of Presidents applauds Governor Chris Sununu for making New Hampshire the 36th state to prohibit state investment or contracts with organizations participating in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement.
“Governor Sununu’s signing of this executive order demonstrates New Hampshire’s firm commitment to combating anti-Israel bigotry. The objective of the BDS Movement and its organizers is not peace in the Middle East, but rather the demonization and delegitimization of Israel.
“Any organization or government supporting BDS or pursuing similar activities should consider the serious reputational and legal consequences. In a time of rising global antisemitism, the Conference of Presidents urges others to join New Hampshire in rejecting the pernicious BDS Movement.”
