Conference of Presidents Welcomes Return of Hadar Goldin’s Remains: Leaders vow not to rest until every hostage returns home

New York, NY — Betsy Berns Korn, Chair, and William C. Daroff, CEO, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

“We welcome with profound relief and gratitude the return of the remains of IDF Lieutenant Hadar Goldin z”l, who gave his life defending Israel in 2014 and whose body Hamas cruelly held for 4,118 days.

“We thank President Trump and his administration for their leadership and resolve in bringing Hadar home. This moment affirms the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel and reflects our shared moral duty to ensure that no soldier remains behind.

“We honor the memories of IDF Staff Sergeant Itay Chen z”l and Captain Omer Neutra z”l, both American citizens who fell on October 7, 2023, and now rest in Israel’s soil. May the memories of Hadar, Itay, and Omer bless and inspire all who work and pray for peace, security, and the safe return of every captive.

“Today brings long-awaited closure to the families of Hadar, Itay, and Omer. Our hearts remain with the families of those still in Hamas captivity. We will not stop, we will not rest, and we will not turn away until every hostage returns home. The American Jewish community stands united with them, their families, and the people of Israel as they seek freedom, justice, and peace.”
