CONFERENCE OF PRESIDENTS RE-ELECTS STEPHEN M. GREENBERG AS CHAIRMAN

Friday, April 15, 2016 New York, NY… At the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations General Meeting on Thursday, April 14, Stephen M. Greenberg was re-elected for a second term as Chairman. Greenberg, an attorney specializing in high level mediation, has a long history of Jewish communal involvement and has been a leader in several of the Conference’s 54 member organizations. His one year term will commence on June 1, 2016.

Prior to his chairmanship of the Conference, Greenberg was the Chairman of NCSEJ – National Coalition Supporting Eurasian Jewry. In addition, he also served as National Chairman of the UJA Young Leadership Cabinet and was a founding member of the North American Jewish Forum. He also has held leadership positions in a variety of other Jewish organizations, including National Vice Chairman of Hillel International; President of American Friends of Beit Hatfutsot; National Vice Chair of UJA; and Treasurer of The Tel Aviv-Yafo Foundation.

Commenting on his re-election, Mr. Greenberg said, “It is a privilege to serve a second term as the Chairman of the Presidents Conference. The Conference’s watchwords, ‘strength through unity,’ have never been more important given the many challenges facing us. In my second term as Chairman, I will continue to help our entire community achieve that important goal.”

In other areas of public service, Mr. Greenberg was Chair of New Jersey Federal Judicial Selection Committee; Member of NJ Public Broadcasting Authority; Member of NJ Israel Commission; and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He has received numerous honors and awards.
