Conference of Presidents Leaders Welcome Trump Administration Focus on Iran’s Ongoing Aggression

New York, N.Y. Stephen M. Greenberg, Chairman, and Malcolm Hoenlein, CEO, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, today welcomed the statement by National Security Advisor Michael Flynn condemning Iran’s continued threats and aggressive actions against U.S. allies in the Middle East, including the recent test launching of a ballistic missile and its support for Houthi rebel militias.

Mr. Greenberg and Mr. Hoenlein said, “Today the Trump Administration took another step toward holding Iran accountable for its provocative and belligerent behavior which threatens Israel and other U.S. allies in the region and vital U.S. national security interests.  The statement by National Security Advisor Michael Flynn one day after the U.S. convened a special meeting of the U.N. Security Council to deal with the same subject, underscores the administration’s commitment to hold Iran accountable for its ongoing aggression.  We look forward to working with the administration and the bipartisan majority in Congress on appropriate and effective responses to Iran’s repeated provocations and belligerence.”
