CONFERENCE OF PRESIDENTS LEADERS DEPLORE ATTACK ON JERUSALEM SCHOOL

Conference of Presidents leaders Robert G. Sugarman, Chairman, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, “deplore the attack on the Max Rayne Hand in Hand school, which is attended by 1200 Jewish and Arab students. Police reported that there was vandalism including graffiti attacking Arabs. This is unacceptable and we urge the police to do all to apprehend those who are responsible. The best answer to such wanton violence was the demonstration by Jewish students, both religious and secular, and Arab students from a variety of schools who came to the site as the school reopened to demonstrate solidarity and support.

“We also denounce the attack on the Tel Aviv International Synagogue which was desecrated with graffiti and sacred books were burnt. Any act of intolerance must be met with the full force of the law and the denunciation by all groups, as was the case in the Hand in Hand school. It is the responsibility of all leaders to assure that those who engage in incitement as well as those who engage in these despicable acts are held to account,” Said Sugarman and Hoenlein.
