Conference of Presidents leaders condemn renewed violence against Israeli civilians in the South

“Between Saturday and Tuesday 160 rockets were fired from Gaza into Israeli territory. No country would tolerate such wonton acts of violence. This year more than 800 rockets and mortars have been fired from Gaza on Israeli territory. Israel has demonstrated unprecedented restraint only to see the violence increase. This escalation by Palestinian terrorist groups led by Hamas is concurrent with a rise in attacks by Islamist groups in the Sinai. We condemn the renewed violence in the strongest terms. Israel must take the steps necessary to protect its citizens and defend the country,” said Conference of Presidents leaders, Richard Stone, Chairman, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman.

“As Palestinian terrorists carry on daily attacks, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas remains silent. He has yet to condemn or criticize these blatant violations across an international border that put one million innocent Israelis in jeopardy. The international community must speak up forcefully and stand by Israel’s right to defend itself and protect its citizens. Israel is on the front lines of the war on terrorism, but it is a threat faced by the entire world.”
