“The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations commends the U.S. House’s passage of vital national security legislation to support our allies Israel and Ukraine.
“As threats to the free world from authoritarian adversaries, including Iran, escalate, the United States must stand firmly with its allies. The passage of critical assistance to Israel by an overwhelming bipartisan majority sends a strong message of reassurance to our allies and partners in the Middle East and around the world.
“We thank President Biden, Speaker Mike Johnson, and minority leader Hakeem Jeffries for putting the national interest ahead of politics in securing the passage of this legislative package in the House. Furthermore, we urge the Senate to swiftly take up this legislation and send it to the President’s desk.
“In light of ongoing threats posed by Iran, Hezbollah, and the Hamas terror army, it is essential that Israel has the support necessary to defend itself.”
