Conference of Presidents Congratulates Yechiel Leiter on Appointment as Israeli Ambassador to the US

New York, NY – Harriet P. Schleifer, Chair, and William C. Daroff, CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, released the following statement:

We congratulate Dr. Yechiel Leiter on his appointment as the new Israeli Ambassador to the United States. Dr. Leiter’s extensive experience in public service and deep understanding of American society make him exceptionally well-suited for this vital role. His proven leadership will undoubtedly serve him well as he represents Israel at this critical time.

We also extend our gratitude to Ambassador Michael Herzog for his exemplary service and dedication. Ambassador Herzog’s tireless work has strengthened the ties between the United States and Israel, ensuring that this special relationship remains robust and enduring. His contributions have left an indelible mark on the shared commitment to peace, security, and mutual respect between our two nations.

We look forward to continued collaboration with Ambassador-designate Leiter, a long-time friend of the Conference of Presidents, as he embarks on this important position. We wish him success in his mission to advance the close bond between the State of Israel and the United States.
