New York, NY – Dianne Lob, Chair, and William Daroff, CEO, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:
“The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations condemns without reservation the murder of three Israeli citizens by terrorists, and we mourn together with their families and all the people of Israel. Such attacks on civilians cannot be allowed to continue, and we hope that the global community will join us in denouncing this violence.
“Simultaneously, we are appalled and shocked by the retaliatory riots and outbreaks of violence directed at Palestinians in Hawara. There is no excuse for lawless vigilantism. These criminal acts of violence and vandalism harm Jewish sovereignty and Israel’s relationship with the global Jewish diaspora.
“We urge Knesset members to join President Herzog and Prime Minister Netanyahu in speaking out against these attacks, while pursuing a peaceful resolution. We have the utmost confidence that the IDF and Israeli police will undoubtedly bring the terrorists to justice and prosecute them to the full extent of the law.”
