Conference of Presidents Applauds U.S. Opposition to One-Sided U.N. Resolution Targeting Israel

New York, NY — Betsy Berns Korn, Chair, and William C. Daroff, CEO, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

“We applaud the United States’ decision to oppose the one-sided United Nations General Assembly resolution that unfairly targets Israel.

“We commend the leadership of President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Ambassador Mike Waltz for standing firmly against this pattern and advancing a more balanced, principled U.S. approach to the United Nations — one that supports Israel’s legitimacy.

“At a moment when the Jewish community is still reeling from the horrific antisemitic massacre at Bondi Beach in Australia, the international community must be unequivocal in rejecting antisemitism in all its forms. Actions that isolate and demonize the world’s only Jewish state contribute to a climate that emboldens hatred and violence against Jews globally.

“Repeatedly singling out Israel through unbalanced U.N. actions undermines the credibility of international institutions, does nothing to advance peace or stability, and risks further fueling the very antisemitism that has already led to devastating consequences. Fairness and consistency are essential to maintaining trust in the international system.”
