Conference of Presidents Applauds House Passage of $1 Billion for Restocking Iron Dome

. . . Dianne Lob, Chair, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

“We are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming bipartisan support in the US House of Representatives for legislation that provides $1 billion to the State of Israel for the restocking of its Iron Dome missile defense system.

This measure, which passed by a nearly unanimous vote with only nine of the House’s 435 members opposed, demonstrates unequivocally to the people of Israel that America stands with them against the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists that seek to do them harm. The life-saving Iron Dome technology has a 90% interception rate, providing a protective shield for Israelis in the event of an attack.

We call for the swift approval in the US Senate of this critical funding for Israel. The preservation of our close ally’s qualitative military edge is imperative as it continues to face ongoing and unpredictable threats to its safety and security.”
