
New York, NY — The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations issued the following statement:
The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations Nominating Committee recommends Betsy Berns Korn for a second one-year term as Chair, beginning June 1, 2026, and Matthew Bronfman, the Chairman of Hillel International Board of Governors. The nominations will be submitted to the full Conference for a vote in May.
Matthew chairs the Board of Governors of Hillel International, where he advances Jewish campus life, philanthropy, and efforts to confront campus antisemitism. He has held this role since December 2020 and also serves as Honorary Chair of NYU Hillel. He sits on the Board of Governors of the American Jewish Committee, where he previously served six years as Chair of the Board of Trustees and twelve years on the Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Conference’s Executive Council.
His record reflects sustained leadership across local, national, and international Jewish life. He led the 92nd Street Y as both President and Chair, and he chairs the International Steering Committee of Limmud FSU, which engages Russian-speaking Jewish communities worldwide. He also serves on the Board of the Claims Conference and chairs its Audit Committee.
In the private sector, Matthew serves as Chairman and CEO of BHB Holdings, a private investment firm with diverse interests. He oversees the IKEA franchise in Israel and maintains significant real estate holdings in both Israel and the United States. He serves as a Director of Lincoln Avenue Communities and chairs Bronfman LLC, a growth capital firm. He earned his BA from Williams College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
