American Jewish Leaders Appalled by Antisemitic Vandalism of George Washington University Fraternity

. . . Dianne Lob, Chair, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

We are outraged by the antisemitic act of vandalism of the Alpha-Pi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) at George Washington University, a house with a significant number of Jewish members. The desecration of the chapter’s Torah, which was ripped apart and covered in cleaning detergent, is a flagrant act of antisemitism causing Jewish students to feel unsafe on campus.

“We cannot allow the targeting and harassment of Jewish students to go unrecognized. Jewish students deserve to feel safe. Hate and antisemitism have no place on college campuses. We call on the George Washington Police Department to investigate and apprehend those responsible and for university officials to condemn, unequivocally, this act of hatred.”
