. . . Arthur Stark, Chairman, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:
“We commend Secretary Pompeo for his remarks to the United Nations Security Council today where he emphasized the critical necessity of extending the UN embargo on Iranian weapons that is set to expire in October.
The Secretary spoke of the unacceptable risks of allowing Iran to import additional arms, a reversal that would significantly increase the rogue regime’s ability to wreak havoc in the region. If the embargo is lifted, US and allied forces, including Israel, would be in even greater danger of attack by Iran and its terrorist proxies.
These remarks from the Secretary follow a UNSC resolution introduced by the US last week also calling for extension of the embargo. We join the US in urging the UNSC to not let Iran strengthen its arsenal of terror and extremism.”
