Conference of Presidents Condemns Today’s Attack by Hamas Terrorists

New York, NY – Harriet P. Schleifer, Chair, and William Daroff, CEO, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

“The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations is appalled by today’s terrorist attack near Eli in the West Bank, which claimed the lives of four Israelis and wounded four others. We strongly condemn this outrageous attack by the Hamas terrorist organization. This attack is yet another manifestation of Hamas’s wanton disregard for human life and dignity. We firmly denounce their senseless acts of violence and call upon the international community to join us in condemning those who incite, aid, and abet these murderers.”

“As leaders of the American Jewish community, we cannot remain silent in the face of terrorist violence against innocent people in the Jewish homeland. In the face of escalating threats of terror, we support the people of Israel during this time of escalating terrorist violence, which has claimed the lives of twenty-two Israelis since the beginning of this year and wounded 43 others.”

“Among the victims of this senseless attack, we mourn the untimely passing of Harel Masood, 21; Elisha Anteman, 18; Ofer Fayerman, 60; and Nachman Mordoff, 17. May their families find solace and strength among the mourners of Zion. Additionally, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a complete and swift recovery to those wounded in the attack.”
