Conference of Presidents Welcomes Prime Minister Bennett to United States

. . . Dianne Lob, Chair, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

“We welcome Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to America, and anticipate that his meetings with President Joe Biden and senior Administration officials on issues of mutual concern will be fruitful and productive.

As Prime Minister Bennett’s first state visit since taking office, the trip underscores the priority, importance, and enduring strength of the US-Israel relationship, and reflects the deep bonds that exist between the American and Israeli people. This will be an opportunity for the discussion of key issues, including how best to curb continued Iranian aggression and its nuclear program, enhancing the joint development of life-saving missile defense systems, countering COVID-19, and the advancement of peace and stability in the region.

The special US-Israel relationship is at the core of America’s strategic interests in the Middle East; the importance of this alliance is brought into even sharper focus by the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan. The ties between these close allies enjoy bipartisan support, based on shared values and aspirations. America is the greatest friend and partner of the State of Israel, and its commitment to the security of the Jewish State is as critical as ever.”
