. . . Arthur Stark, Chairman, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:
“We welcome the decision by the government of the Netherlands to appoint a national coordinator to fight antisemitism, following its adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism.
The creation of this position demonstrates that the Netherlands understands the seriousness of the threat Jew-hatred poses to the Jewish people. In creating an official role aimed at neutralizing antisemitism, the Netherlands joins the US, France, Germany, Canada, the UK, the EU, and the UN.
We appreciate the Netherlands taking this important step, and we are grateful to the other countries and institutions that are prioritizing the fight against Jew-hatred by making these kinds of appointments. We strongly urge others to swiftly follow this example as the world confronts the increasingly urgent challenge of combating antisemitism.”
