William Wexler z”l
Dr. William Wexler served as Chairman of the Conference of Presidents from December 1969 to February 1972.
Dr. Wexler served as president of B’nai B’rith International from 1965 to 1971. A longtime leader of the Jewish community of Savannah, Georgia, he was president of the Jewish Community Council and chairman of Savannah’s United Jewish Appeal and Israel Bond campaign. He was a national commissioner of the ADL, chairman of the World Conference of Jewish Organizations (COJO), and vice president of the National Jewish Welfare Board.
In 1975, at age 62, his love of Israel compelled him to settle there, and he became a prime supporter of Noar L’Noar, the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization in Israel, which trained thousands of young Israelis in volunteer community work.
Dr. Wexler passed away in 2000.
