Lester Pollack was managing director of Lazard Freres & Co., and of investment partnerships affiliated with Lazard Freres. He occupied senior positions with Oppenheimer & Co., United Brands, and Loews Corporation, among others. He was a board member of New York University, and NYU’s Law Center Foundation. He was vice-chairman of the Anti-Defamation League and chairman of the Jewish National Fund Investment Advisory Committee. He served as president, Jewish Community Centers Association of North America and of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York; chairman of the board of Associated YM-YWHAs of Greater New York, and served as an official of numerous Jewish and civic organizations, including the Council on Foreign Relations.
