Lester Pollack served as Chairman of the Conference of Presidents from January 1992 to June 1994.
Mr. Pollack was managing director of Lazard Freres & Co., and of investment partnerships affiliated with Lazard Freres. He occupied senior positions with Oppenheimer & Co., United Brands, and Loews Corporation, among others. He was a board member of New York University and NYU’s Law Center Foundation. He also served as vice-chairman of the Anti-Defamation League and chairman of the Jewish National Fund Investment Advisory Committee. He was president of the Jewish Community Centers Association of North America and of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York; chairman of the board of Associated YM-YWHAs of Greater New York, and served as an official of numerous Jewish and civic organizations, including the Council on Foreign Relations.
